Let’s go, goths! Just don’t ask Catherine O’Hara to put on her sunglasses because she won’t do it!
The cast of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be getting a special T Lo dispensation regarding the use of color in their promotional wardrobes. A Beetlejuice sequel is the one time we won’t get huffy about everyone showing up in black for the publicity tour. Fortunately, a couple of the more adept members of the cast figured out how to make their color-free choices a little more photogenic.
Jenna Ortega
This is sharp, sexy, and perfectly on point. She’s been very good about dressing according to the film’s tone without dressing in cosplay. In fact, we’re coining the term now: this is tone dressing and it should replace theme dressing on the red carpet immediately. Love the shades. The sandals feel like an odd choice with the suit.
Catherine O’Hara
LOVE this for her! The jacket’s perhaps a little long, but this is such a strongly declarative, focus-pulling sort of look and we love that she’s taking the time to make it all about her. We might have suggested opening up the jacket a little and also to ditch the matching bag.
Michael Keaton
Cool and effortless. This is how every man hopes to look in his seventies. He could also stand to loosen a button.
Winona Ryder
Our Gen X Goth forever-princess. This isn’t to our tastes and we’d normally consider it a mistake on a promotional tour, not to mention an example of theme-dressing that tips over completely into character cosplay, but none of that applies because this is how she really dresses and this is the exact time when it most makes sense to do so (weather notwithstanding, as this makes an insane choice for New York in August).
Justin Theroux
He should lay off the hair and beard dye, but he looks pretty great here. The chain’s giving a whiff of d-bag, but the jacket is nice.
Monica Bellucci
While we can tell it’s of fine quality, this is a very dull suit for day shots. We won’t complain about the black, but maybe little bit of shine or texture or pattern would have gone a long way here.
