Serena Williams stopped by Stephen Colbert’s place in a really cute little summer outfit – and the wrong shoes for it.
To be fair, that vest is a little too tricky for our tastes. If it had been a simple, conventional vest, this would look boring (and it would wind up looking like waitstaff uniform for a chain restaurant) but the design could definitely use an edit or two. It’s just too… flappy somehow. Still, we like this for one simple reason: it’s heat dome-appropriate. Personally, we like our stars to look like summer during summer, look like the holidays during the holidays, and break out the sweaters the minute the leaves turn and the florals the second the buds start popping. Failing that, we’d just like to see them in climate-appropriate clothing. It’s great to see someone walk out on a talk show in a pair of cute shorts for once. But yeah, the slingbacks look odd with this.
