Press Your Luck host Elizabeth Banks headed to the Good Morning America studios to talk about the upcoming 6th season of the game show. To mark the occasion, she wore what we like to call the “never trust the thumbnail” dress. When we first saw teeny little shots of this getup on our photo agency site, we said “Looks like a cute dress!” Exclamation point added for emphasis. Unfortunately, thumbnails lie, because when we downloaded the pics, the awful truth was revealed:

Ma’am, that is a simply terrible design. The illusion netting is cutting into her, essentially giving her side rolls she doesn’t have. But even if that cursed textile had been expertly deployed and fitted, it would still be a bad design. Why would you want to have your midriff look like you’re wearing nude pantyhose as shapewear? It’s just a bad and unflattering design. The puckering is egregious and the embellishments look heavy and tacky. The original design (below) is a little more interesting, but doesn’t strike us as any more workable.
