You may have heard us mention it from time to time, but our long history of red carpet blogging starts with the Kluminator. Because of our origins as Project Runway fanbloggers, she is the celebrity whose style choices we’ve been bitching at for the longest. We feel like she deserves some sort of trophy for that. Or maybe we do, given her predilection for the tacky. Still, we’ve come to admire her public style, mostly because it seems very fluid and changes according to the setting and the venue. She knows when it’s time to cover up or when a certain style would come off grandiose, just as she knows she’s a supermodel who can make just about anything work for her so there’s no reason to overthink any of it. This is all a long preamble to the reveal that she showed up at the Kids Choice Awards in a salute to slime.
That final shot really sells it. It’s tacky, and in a different setting, we’d probably call it ugly, but the point is that she’s not in a different setting. She’s in this one, standing in front of that backdrop, where it all looks perfectly at home. As we’ve noted many a time with the Heidster, she knows what she’s doing.
