The stars came out for the Summer Gala by Gala One in Saint Tropez! What is the Summer Gala by Gala One, you ask? “An evening dedicated to safe futures for our children, the lending of a helping hand to those in need, and the preservation of the world’s resources,” benefitting various foundations and charitable initiatives. There. You’re caught up. Now let’s go judge some frocks.
Camilla Cabello in Alaïa
We would not claim to have the firmest understanding of how one should dress for the Summer Gala by Gala One event, but we figure since it’s in Saint Tropez and celebrities are involved, it’s safe to suggest that this is perhaps a little dull and too low-key for the event. Maybe this isn’t a night for outrageous ostentation, but surely can have a little fun with her accessorizing. This is okay, but it needs some zhuzhing and accompaniments.
Eiza González in Christopher Esber
This would be why we don’t necessarily have to assume that this is some sort of demurely low-key event. She looks CRAZY hot in this although it’s a bit snug in the bust. We think this begs for a pendant so much that the sight of that choker leaves us annoyed. The earrings are big and obnoxious and they look great on her. No, this isn’t some modest save-the-children charity ensemble, but it is a good example of why you’d invite celebrities to your event. And just to reiterate, it’s Saint Tropez. If a gal with a stunning body can’t show it off at a gala event, what’s the point of the place? Isn’t this how a lot of people would want to look in Saint Tropez?
Emma Roberts in Fendi
Just completely generic and so low-key as to be barely noticeable. Not that this approach is wrong. We can understand not wanting to come off frivolous or ostentatious if that sort of thing worries you, but it takes a pretty terrible picture and, well, that’s the whole reason you’re here, dear.
Kate Beckinsale in Raissa Vanessa
NEVER FAILS TO UNDERSTAND THE ASSIGNMENT. Darling, she’s not here to ladle out soup to the unfortunate, she’s here to sparkle and pose fabulously. The giant gold hip bow/rosette thing is objectively silly, but dear God, does she ever know how to work the hell out of this sort of thing. The bust is weirdly shaped, though. Her hair looks cute and the earrings would be entirely too much on people who aren’t Kate Beckinsale.
