The cast of House of the Dragon stepped out for the show’s second season premiere and proved once again that they are one of the most stylish casts on television. Almost everyone came hard and, to our eternal gratitude, avoided theme-dressing. We were afraid it was going to be a green-and-black showdown. Granted, there’s always a lot of black on a red carpet and a few of the green team showed up in their colors, but it doesn’t come off overly coordinated, contractually obligated, or like a costume part.
Bethany Antonia in E. Stott
This has a simple, witchy-nun drama to it that appeals to us, but she needed some high-impact accessories and styling.
Emma D’Arcy in Celine
Hot as hell and cool as shit. There’s no such thing as “nonbinary style” in the specific sense, but if someone asked us for a good example of it, this would be the one.
Eve Best in Marchesa
We’d have never pegged that as a Marchesa. We think she tends to go for the least fussy options and this one really works for her, but we’d have suggested a gold cuff and gold sandals.
Ewan Mitchell in Prada
The blonde wig and eyepatch does not do this guy any favors, that’s for sure. He looks really cute here and the touch of green is cheeky, but we loathe the cut of that suit.
Fabien Frankel
It’s fine. The suit is very nice, the overall look is a little dull, however.
Gayle Rankin in Dilara Findikoglu
She’s extremely well-suited to the dress and it looks great on her from the knees up. The hem and the shoes are hideous.
Jamie Kenna
Nicely done. Love the shoes.
Matt Smith in Paul Smith
Drunk groomsmen. You need a belt and your fly is attempting to make a break for it, sir.
Matthew Needham in Lanvin
Lots of weirdly cut suits with questionable hems going on around here. The color does nothing for him.
Olivia Cooke in Loewe
Just gorgeous. Absolutely stunning and we have no notes at all. We especially appreciate that she didn’t ask for it in green.
Phia Saban in Stella McCartney
It’s a style we’ve seen a million times, but it looks pretty great on her and it’s styled well. Love the shoes and the bangs.
Steve Toussaint
Love the color, if not the cut of the suit for him. Should’ve been paired with a lighter short and summer shoes.
Tom Glynn-Carney
LOVE IT. It’s a bit too heavy for June, and yes, he’s kind of theme-dressing, and no, we haven’t suddenly reversed our stances on Colonel Sanders ties, but it’s fine, it’s full of personality, and we’ll never not love a dandy turn.
