We thank the content goddesses for the early summer bounty they have bestowed upon us today, which means we can take a short break from all the posting to go have a sandwich or something while all y’all do a little heavy lifting for us. Dakota Fanning stepped onto the red carpet at the premiere of Watchers in a minimalist gown that is nonetheless highly discussable for a host of reasons.

Reason One: it is a lovely, deep, rich un-Fanning-like color which looks pretty great on her. Reason Two: we’re pretty sure plenty of you are going to loathe that neckline just as some of you will defend it. Reason Three: Chain straps. Should they exist? Reason Four: the near total lack of styling. Does she need a pendant? An up do? Big obnoxious earrings? A winged eye? A heavy lip? Let’s hear it. Or you could just skip to the end and answer the only question that matters here.
