We go back and forth on that color. Sometimes it seems dated and harsh to us. We think she’s well suited to it, but we’d never have recommended pairing that dress with those jewels. They’d be set off much better against a black or navy gown.

Greta Gerwig in Rodarte

Her first fashion misstep in a week of triumphs. It’s not a disaster, but the dress looks way too mumsy and heavy for the time and place and her makeup wasn’t made for this lighting. Gorgeous necklace, though.

Eva Green in Alberta Ferretti

We wouldn’t normally recommend a metallic for a night of jewelry-modeling duties, but she goes so hard with her fashion (and her posing) that she doesn’t seem overwhelmed by it. Having said that, we think there are better ways to show off those diamonds.

Lily Gladstone in Markarian

The color looks amazing on her. Don’t love the capelet and we can’t say we’re loving the earrings either. She never knows what to do with her hands when she’s posing.
