The stars came out in London for the Olivier Awards and to no one’s surprise at all, we have a multitude of opinions regarding their style choices for the occasion. Would you like to hear them? Rhetorical question!

We can only say it so many times: Mister, this is not your style. We don’t mind the sequined shirt, but the bolero jacket and the flares are a combination that almost no man can pull off. You need serious swag and while he has many talents, that’s not one of them. Also, the sleeves are annoyingly short.

The skirt is pretty and we like the red/blue combo, but that apron bodice is awkward and unflattering.

He can make these whimsy-dandy styles look effortless, they’re that well-suited to him. Her dress is very nice and she certainly is under no obligation to dress in a matching outfit (we’d hate it if she did, in fact), but it feels so serious next to his. The silver accessories help to lighten it a little.

We’re surprised to be saying this about a Hannah Waddingham gown, but we hate this for her. It looks dingy and flimsy. The color isn’t great for her and the skirt is unflattering. Her hair and makeup are a mess too. Hannah, let’s forget this ever happened.

It’s a nice suit, but we’re not sure the cut really works for him. The only reason he doesn’t look much sillier in those frames is because he’s cute.

We can’t tell if those are leggings or thigh-boots, but either way, they shouldn’t be paired with a mini-dress and a train.

The fit is pretty great, but we don’t love how much it’s exposing the bodysuit underneath. It’s not the most interesting design in the world, but it’s well-styled.

The dress design is relatively simple, but the embellishments provide all the impact. She looks pretty great, but we don’t think that peach-blond is doing her any favors.

Those arm bows look like they would get annoying quickly, but she looks very pretty in this.

Any dress that makes us lean in and peer closer to get a better look at it is usually a winner, if only for being interesting or eye-catching. This is gorgeously striking and perfectly suited to her. To be fair, we actually liked the textile a little less when we got a closer look, but the whole effect is so perfect for her. The gloves really make it.
