Awkwafina has a very… let’s say “colorful” red carpet history. The girl doesn’t go for glamour in the conventional sense. She has a comedian’s (or what they used to call a comedienne’s) approach to style, which is more akin to clownery than fashion. We don’t mean that in a mean-spirited way. After all, is this not clownery?

Oh, sorry. We probably should’ve prepared you for the scrolldown. We could hear some of your gasps from here. Anyway, it’s a bowling shirt over a tutu, it’s hideous, and yet it somehow seems just right for the time and place. Wouldn’t you expect Awkwafina to wear something like this to a Kung Fu Panda sequel premiere? Of course you would. That means everything here is in order. Carry on with clownery, Awkwafina. We won’t say that we love it, but we get it.
