Lily Gladstone, like everyone else on the Oscar awards track, had herself a very busy weekend of serving looks on red carpets, fitting the SAG Awards, the Film Independent Spirit Awards and the PGAs in one three-day period. Being a nominee looks like fun, but it also looks exhausting.
At the Film Independent Spirit Awards in J. OKUMA
There was an expectation that she would be wearing a lot of pieces by Indigenous fashion designers during her campaign, but most of them don’t trade in formalwear, so she had to rely on high-end houses for her dresses. It’s nice to see her take the opportunity to showcase the work of J. Okuma. The print is striking, but we don’t like the neckpiece at all and we think she couldn’t have picked worse shoes to go with it.
At the Producers Guild of America Awards in EMILIA WICKSTEAD
This is stunning, however. It’s formal and dripping with prestige, but it’s also a little unusual and unexpected. The embossed floral patter is striking and the color really pops for being such an unusual red carpet choice. She looks gorgeous.
