We’ve long been of the opinion that Penelope Cruz’s professional relationship with the house of Chanel hasn’t really benefitted either of them. We don’t know if it’s a matter of Penelope and her team choosing the wrong options for her or if it’s simply a bad match of persona and aesthetic. We can think of no reason why she shouldn’t be the perfect Chanel woman – European, gorgeous, innately chic and entering middle age. On paper, it should be a no-brainer. In reality? Well, you tell us:
Yes? No? Cute? Not cute? So right? So wrong? No, really. We’re asking. But since we get paid for this: The dress is fairly basic and should be easy to work, but it feels like the belt is missing and we think the circa 2002 cap should be left to those who weren’t wearing it in 2002.
