Yes, it’s true! We had just enough left over, unjudged celebrity red carpetry in our folders to scrape together a leftovers post! Driveby bitchery! Let’s do it together, like a family.
Cate Blanchett in AZ Factory
This was for a 40th anniversary screening of the 42-year-old Sophie’s Choice, which means formal wear or high-fashion looks would not have been expected, nor would it be a good idea for someone other than the stars of the film to show up in something attention-seeking. Having put all of that context out there, Cate, this is hideous.
Claire Danes in Lanvin
This is perfectly appropriate and a little boring.
Damon Wayans Jr.
It’s giving “Working security for this event,” which means we’d have liked a more interesting shirt and tie combination, but we can’t deny he looks pretty hot here.
Gina Rodriguez in Mach & Mach
She looks pretty great, but the design is a lesser version of something J Lo just wore a couple of weeks ago.
Jason Ritter and Melanie Lynskey
That is a personal best for her. She looks great. We would have advised against the matchy clutch. They’re such a cute couple and we feel really bad about pointing out that his outfit is not at her level at all. Everything from the waist down is not red carpet ready.
Joel Kim Booster
All of this is very cute, but those puddling pants and the artfully untucked shirt are making us sad.
Josh Brolin in Brunello Cucinelli
A nicely coordinated look that feels perfectly suited to him since he’s not the kind of guy who’s going to go too far out there in his style choices. We don’t think the shoes and shirt needed to match. We do think he needs half an inch off the hem of the pants.
Kelly Rowland in Grayscale
Kelly, that top is stupid. Someone should have told you.
Kingsley Ben-Adir in Gucci
He looks very chic but we still can’t sign off on the Michael Jackson action happening down at his feet.
Kylie Minogue
Diva, who is advising you? Who let you go to a premiere like this?
Louisa Jacobson in Valentino
A classic Dockery Maneuver. A look that screams “I’m so much hotter than my primly corsetted character.” It’s a great suit, but we could do without the bow bandeau.
Marion Cotillard in Chanel
Far be it for us to put a Nazi sympathizer on a pedestal, but Coco Chanel is weeping in her grave at what they’ve done to her brand.
Sarita Choudhury in Lanvin
It just looks like she wrapped a skirt around a jacket.
Selena Gomez in Stella McCartney
Honey, clearly no one in your life will tell you this, so we’ll be the bitches here: This adds about thirty years to your age. It’s not just that the style is so stale, but those nude pumps and that studded clutch feel so back-of-the-closet.
Sonequa Martin-Green
What a cute dress. Perfectly styled by keeping all of the other elements fairly low key and letting it shine. It takes a great picture.
