It occurs to us that we should be paying a little more attention to Danielle Brooks’ red carpetry, since her turn in The Color Purple has been getting awards buzz. To be fair, we might have given this the spotlight treatment even without the buzz, because it’s a pretty spectacular look.
We’ll never love those clear shoes and we think the fit on the jacket needs a lot of work, but this is sharp and photogenic. Not everyone can pull off a white suit, let alone in January. If we want to be really nitpicky, we’d say that the jewelry all feels a little randomly chosen. A pendant might have been a more interesting choice. Love the hair and makeup.
