There’s a part of us that thinks the title of this post in combination with the picture above is pretty much all you need to know before scrolling down.
Just in case you’re actually reading this, Ava directed a film called Origin starring Aunjanue and Niecy and they all got together to serve looks at the New York premiere. Just look at these divas:
Ava DuVernay in Dolce & Gabbana
Just stunning. She is the most glamorous and stylish director working today, by far. LOVE that dark pewter. Could’ve done without the ruffled edges on the bustline.
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor
We adore how draggy and out-there her style is; the way it combines a queer aesthetic, a rockstar aesthetic and a funk aesthetic. No one else is hitting red carpets quite the way she is at the moment. In a way, these over-the-top looks are beyond critique, but we don’t think the shoes or the sash work.
Nicey Nash-Betts in Dolce & Gabbana
The molded cups feel a little off-brand for her, but we can’t argue with the overall sense of elegant glamour. Our only critique is that the shoulders could be toned down a little.
