The Duchess of Sussex wasn’t the only powerful woman to strut down the Variety Power of Women party red carpet. Let’s assess some of the other notable ladylooks that made an appearance.

We believe we once noted that her public style is so minimalist that it practically renders her invisible. Granted, it’s not her fault the backdrop is black, but even under the best lighting conditions, this would be dull.

Classic “hot girl in a red dress” moment. It’s a little stale and we think the styling could’ve done more to elevate it, but she looks pretty great in it.

We tend to find feather cuffs unwieldy and feather details a bit overdone at the moment, but we still think this is kind of fun. We might have preferred a longer hem.

We think she should be taking this pre-release moment to really announce that she’s back in a big way, which means we love this for her. It’s fun. When The Color Purple opens and she has to promote it heading into the holidays, she can go all prestige if she wants to.

As we noted back when the strike was still going on, we just knew she’d have taken every opportunity available to highlight the work of Native American designers and artists on the never-happened Killers of the Flower Moon promo tour. We’re glad she’s getting to do it now. This is striking, although we wish it weren’t so shiny in this lighting.

She’s so definitely over the Barbie era. This is the second brown outfit she’s worn this week. It looks very pretty but it also looks like she’ll spend the night hoiking it up.
