Meghan Markle joined her husband Prince Harry in Dusseldorf for a special Friends and Family reception at the Invictus Games, making her first public engagement with him for a little while. She wore a snappy little Banana Republic shirtwaist dress for the evening.

Look, we’re never going to stop banging the “We wish she’d wear more color” drum, but this is a really great look for her. It doesn’t pop as much as we think it probably should for a public event, but the style suits her really well. Shirtwaist dresses aren’t all that popular among the royal set, so this would make a nice signature look for her. It’s also a pleasant change of pace to see Harry in a nice suit and pair of dress shoes. They look really cute. Would we have rec’d a red or gold belt? Absolutely.
