Who needs premiere red carpets when there are beauty products to sell? Shiseido has announced that Anne Hathaway will be their new Vital Protection global ambassador and to mark the occasion, she showed up dressed for the Oscars. You won’t hear us complaining.

We might normally suggest that she’s a little overdressed for a product launch, but your girl came dressed to match the packaging and we just can’t get mad at that. It’s a gorgeous gown; almost seems like a waste to bust it out for an event like this, although we doubt the Shiseido people or CD Greene, the dress’s designer actually mind. We like the sort of effortless glam of this whole look, as if she just threw it on. If she were on a red carpet, we might suggest that her makeup is a little too clean for such a glam gown, but since she’s there to hawk anti-aging products, an over-done face would have been a bad idea. She looks great. Then again, she always does.
