Margot continues to understand the assignment, which is “Get big name design houses to make couture cosplay pieces for you.” This is a pretty direct (right down to the crimped hair) interpretation of 1992’s “Earring Magic” Barbie. As we’ve said before, the sort of approach is pretty much beyond reproach in terms of fashion critiques. In other words, we wouldn’t call this chic or even stylish, but as a branding exercise, it just can’t be beat.

This is great. The suit is gorgeously tailored and that soft yellow looks surprisingly good on him. We think maybe the loafers are a little dark for it, but that’s our only critique. He’s doing Ken-adjacent fashion that doesn’t feel like cosplay.

As we mentioned the other day, she’s been taking a really smart, sort of anti-Barbie approach to her fashion and it’s really allowing her to stand out stylishly. This is sharp. The squared-off shoulder really makes the silhouette but we wish the jacket was a little longer.
