The gentlemen of Oppenheimer showed up for the Paris premiere where their co-star Emily Blunt wound up doing all of the heavy lifting. As for these three, varying levels of effort were made. That’s code for “keep your expectations extremely low.”
Cillian Murphy in Prada
An attempt was made. We don’t love beige and we also don’t love ties that match the dress shirt, but he’s got the looks that call for strange or offbeat style choices. It suits him, in other words. We wish he’d buttoned the jacket, however.
Matt Damon
A minimal attempt was made. This is all “back of the closet” stuff rather than a fully styled bespoke suit or anything. We won’t pretend to be offended by it, but we do think anything other than an undershirt would have been an improvement.
Robert Downey Jr. in Givenchy
A Downey-style attempt was made. Again, we can’t get mad at this. It’s not to our tastes and we think he looks a little silly from the knees down, but it’s a stylish, unique take on men’s suiting that seems to tick off all of his style preferences. He’s being true to himself and he looks more interesting than the other two.
