Last call for Cannes! You don’t have to go home but you can’t stay here, stars!
Eva Longoria in Tony Ward Couture
It just comes up to the outskirts of Tacky Town, but Cannes is the right place to get a little tacky. We really can’t claim with straight (you’ll pardon the term) faces that she looks bad here.
Geri Halliwell in Erdem
This looks like a Princess Cathy dress. It’s pretty, but more than a little underwhelming for a red carpet.
Ikram Abdi in Nina Ricci
LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE. It’s so outrageously dramatic and impossible to miss. It’s almost above critique just for being so bold, but we have to note that we don’t love how the skirt and top marry. It ruins the lines.
Jane Fonda in AMI Paris
Jane, two scrolldown disappointments in one weekend? This is upsetting. We’re not opposed to wearing pants with a gown, but the design has to accommodate the pairing. Just ripping off two-thirds of a skirt isn’t going to do it.
Jeremy O.Harris
This applies to both the brooches and the pants length: They’re deliberate choices, but we don’t like them.
Larsen Thompson in Armani Privé
The textile of the bodice is interesting. We’d have liked more of it. The skirt feels like an afterthought.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in Brunello Cucinelli
He looks adorable. Because it’s linen, we’ll partially excuse the excessive wrinkling, but we don’t think black patent leather dress shoes were the right choice at all. And his pants need hemming.
Orlando Bloom
Works for us. Except for the ratty beard, that is.
