Sharon Stone stopped by to wish James Corden well on his last week before leaving The Late Late Show, and she chose an eyebrow-raising dress for the occasion. Well. Eyebrow-raising to us, anyway. To people not particularly obsessed about the topic of celebrity style, it probably looks… actually, we have no idea how to finish that sentence. Our point?

We have two points, actually. The first is that our eyebrows raised because the style seems like something of a departure for her. Not that she doesn’t love a big, silly, dramatic gown when she feels like it – which brings us to our second point. This might seem slightly off to us because of the silhouette and the somewhat retro style, neither of which come to mind when we think of her style preferences. But it’s still very much in that Sharon Stone mode of recent years, which is to say that she’s embraced her wacky aunt persona more fully. And while no one could argue against the idea that the lady’s still hot, she seems much freer in her style in her sixties; more concerned with impact, personality and fun in her style than looking sexy. And it’s just such a Sharon thing to do to show up wearing this to a talk show. She dominates the scene completely. But why did she have to go with the just-got-out-of-the-pool hair?
