Katie Holmes has always had a distinct, hard-to-pin-down sort of style. She tends to be hit or miss, veering from the generic to the notably unusual. We used to see her back in the days when we hit the New York Fashion Week shows and we came away with two impressions. The first is that she’s very tall and the second is that she tends to dress like a rich New Yorker who works in the arts or fashion. No reason, really. It’s giving accessories editor. It’s giving trendy ceramicist. It’s giving art museum publicist. In other words, we kinda love it and we think she may be one of the few celebrities to pull it off. There’s a very laid-back sort of chicness to her that only becomes more genuine and well-expressed over time.
