Lorenzo binged his way through screeners for Netflix’s upcoming… we guess we’d call it a “dramedy” but that feels like such an outdated and overly precious term — Beef, starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong. He declared it intense and something that people are likely to be talking about once it drops. Anyway, that’s his little mini-review. Maybe he’ll have more to say in the next podcast if you all clap loudly enough. For now, let’s judge the style of its stars at the series premiere.
Because choices were made and they require discussing.
Steven Yeun
It’s giving priest from neck to waist and then Michael Jackson below that; an alarming combination to say the least. Also, a fairly unphotogenic one. Steven, you deserve better.
Ali Wong in Roksanda
We don’t know… we get the whole idea behind it, but the textile and print work against the dress’s shape and style. It’s supposed to be exuberant and dramatic, but the neckline is giving hospital scrubs/hair stylist’s smock while the dress overall looks too bedsheety. We don’t love the shoes, but they’re definitely fun and deserved a dress that doesn’t look depressed.
