The queers and their allies came out in various levels of style for the GLAAD Media Awards! Some went draggy glam! Some went fierce and hard! Others veered far from the path of righteousness! Let’s all come together to do that thing that queer people do so much better than anyone else: judge.
Tiny bra, big suit. The combo isn’t working for us and the lapels look cheaply bedazzled.
Aminah Nieves in Willy Chavarria
It’s just a big black cloud of fabric. Maybe it’s more interesting in person but if photographs terribly.
It’s a very cute, sort of Gay Mystery Date kind of look, but we don’t like the white horsebit loafers at all.
Giving the gays exactly what they want to see from her. We really can’t fault any of it – except for the way it’s torturing her boobs.
Diplo in Fendi
That suit is sadness in suit form.
Simple, classic; can’t really argue with any of it. She looks great.
Hannah Einbinder in Moschino
This is surprisingly restrained and sexy for Moschino. She looks great. Love the eye makeup.
We’re not sure why she’s so insistent on such a forgettable style. No one’s suggesting she start sporting pencil skirts and sequins, but she could always take a page from Ellen’s style book and just wear comfortable, colorful suits all the time.
This is hot and dramatic. Just the way we like our men.
Lisa Ann Walter in Le Academy (Jacket)
Mother went HARD. We like that she took her fashion all the way, but we tend to think the hairstyle looks a little too retro for it.
She’s everyone’s wacky queer auntie and that’s as it should be. The outfit is… well, it’s on brand is all we’ll say.
Orville Peck in Paul Smith
It’s a cute look, but those clown pants look all wrong with it. This called for skin tight jeans.
Sarah Michelle Gellar in Dolce & Gabbana
Buffy, you deserve better than … all of this. The dress is badly fitted and washes her out, but the hair and makeup are the real crimes here.
It’s got an old school drag feel to it, which makes it pretty on point for the venue.
Zaya Wade (in Miu Miu) and Gabrielle Union (in Moschino)
Just a mother and daughter, serving hot lewks. We think Zaya’s youth end edge allow her to get away with those thong boots, which are objectively terrible. Love Gabrielle’s headcap, which is giving Diana Ross in Mahogany realness.
