We’re always happy to feature a picture of the legendary Lady Bunny, but unfortunately, it’s in service to a larger point, and the focus of today’s podcast; namely, the anti-drag bill that just passed in Tennessee. We take this opportunity to remind folks of the importance of drag as both an art form and a form of political expression, outline the ways in which this bill and other similar ones that are likely to pass will have extremely harmful effects on the lives and livelihoods of working drag queens, and perhaps most controversially, tear into RuPaul and the producers of RuPaul’s Drag Race for doing the absolute bare minimum in response. It’s a LOT.
But we also take the time to do a light review of the entertaining, if lightweight Daisy Jones & The Six, and we unpack the latest nothingburger Oscar non-scandal involving Michelle Yeoh. Much to discuss! Thank you for listening!
