Halle Bailey had a big night on Oscar night, not because she was there or because she looked fabulous, and she wasn’t up for any awards, but because the trailer for her live-action version of The Little Mermaid was about to drop, which made her two looks for the night feel like a bit of a Disneyfied victory lap as she soaked up the attention.

This is giving pure Cinderella, with a modern twist. The volume of the skirt makes the sheerness somewhat beside the point and the color looks stunning on her. We aren’t in love with the boning or the raw edge, though. The pendant is lovely and her hair looks amazing. For the after-party, she ditched the princess drag and went for full glam:

That is just pure molten silver in dress form. She looks luxe and gorgeous. The construction and drape are amazing. The choice to most skip jewelry was a very good one, as were the matchy shoes. You don’t want anything to take away from that amazing gown.
