Good Lady Cate was honored with the Outstanding Performer of the Year Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and she opted to bring a little edge to her style for the occasion.

We’re not quite sure about this one. We tend not to love asymmetry in design when we feel like it’s been overdone, as is the case here. We think there’s too much volume in the skirt on her right side and we don’t love the sleeve/no sleeve situation. We do, however, love the boots and the hair with it. They both feel like the exact right styling choices to make for a dress like this. We don’t know… we don’t hate it, but it’s not setting us on fire either. We like that she’s pulling from archives or re-wearing old pieces for her Oscar campaigning, though. We’re just not feeling this one entirely.
