BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Star Angela Bassett in Moschino at the Oscars 2023 Nominees Luncheon

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star and Oscar nominee Angela Bassett sauntered into the Oscar Nominees Luncheon looking like a lady who really commits.

There will be no half-assing of the fashion coming from this corner, thank you very much. If Moschino offers Miss Angela a pile of stripes, then a pile of stripes she will wear. We just kinda wish she hadn’t. The suit is sort of fun, but we don’t think even she can make it look sophisticated. It has way too much of a Big Top feel to it and it also feels a little off-season for February. We keep wondering if it would be improved by replacing the blouse with a plain white one, but it’s still gonna feel a little too ice cream parlour for our tastes. If this works at all it’s because of the wearer, who naturally lends a little gravity to anything she puts one.
