We’ve always been big supporters of Miss Anya’s quirky and eye-catching red carpet style, but we’re afraid that, for the Golden Globes, the star of The Menu succumbed to a trend from which she should have steered clear.
The yellow trend in fashion has not been a net good for white women. There. We said it. Sorry, ladies. As fellow pales, we sympathize, but there are some colors on the wheel that just aren’t going to work for us. We’re not saying that Anya (or people in Anya’s pale range) shouldn’t wear any yellow shade, but she definitely should never have considered this egg-yolk color for herself. It looks absolutely terrible against her skin. To make matters worse, the design is a big ol’ nothing . Dior added a bunch of big straps and sashes on the back to make it a bit more interesting, but if anything, they detract from the minimalism of the design. We don’t think we’d like this ensemble for her in any color, but a black version would’ve probably been the best way to go. He’s very pretty and they make a striking couple, but they sure aren’t about coordinating their looks, are they? He looks odd standing next to her all bundled up while she’s wearing a few strips of fabric. Also? Her jewelry doesn’t really go.
