Let the Barbie poledance begin! Margot Robbie may have been at the Golden Globes because of her work in the much-discussed Babylon, but she got a jump on the kind of fashion you can expect from her for the rest of the year — or at least all the way up to the Barbie premiere in July.
On the other hand, she might be trying to get the pink out of her system now so she’s not drowning in it when the publicity tour starts. Either way, for the foreseeable future, it will be impossible to see her in pink and not think of Barbie. To be fair, this is a very un-Barbie sort of gown in a lot of ways. That’s not much of a surprise, since we don’t think Chanel as a brand lends itself easily to Barbie comparisons. We like this for her. It skirts up to the ling of being overdesigned and we can’t bring ourselves to love that shredded fringe, but the chevron effect is really well done and there’s exactly the right amount of shimmer. Her hair looks kind of awful, though.
