We’re at that time of year where the two of us look over the red carpet offerings and begrudgingly admit that our focus of late has narrowed to a very small selection of post subject. Awards-track actors and actresses, in other words. It was ever thus. From now until March, you can expect to see the same dozen or so faces every day on this site. Fortunately, The Woman King star Viola Davis managed to shake things up a little for her Critics Choice Awards. After a season of bold, colorful looks, she served up some luxe brown shimmer.
We love a good bronzey metallic. If we had our way, we’d see bronze and pewter on the red carpets of the world at least as much as we see silver and gold. The design is relatively simple, so all of the impact comes in how that textile looks on her and we think the results speak for themselves. Our only quibble is that a couple of well-chosen gold jewelry pieces would have been a better choice.
