Good Lady Cate continues her broad-shouldered femme phase as she ditches the suits and jumpsuits for big skirts and even bigger blouses.
It surprises us to say this about a beige ensemble on a blonde white woman, but we love this for her. Somehow, she managed to secure the exact neutral that pops for her. We’ve been seeing a return to neutrals, beiges and “nudes” on the red carpet lately. We spent years railing against the lack of color on most red carpets, but that issue corrected itself several years back. If anything, the past several years of red carpetry have seen an explosion of color – in both menswear and womenswear. It’s probably the exact right moment for the pendulum to swing the other way. Similar to our thoughts on wearing back, we don’t actually hate neutrals. We just hate when they’re boring or they’re chosen out of some fear of wearing color or standing out (see entry for: Markle, Meghan). This is dramatically chic. We would’ve loved some big, honkin’ wood or stone jewelry to go with it.
