Hunh. We kinda thought the Barbie fashion moment had petered out, but here’s Something From Tiffany’s star Zoey Deutch letting us know that the trend still has legs.
Even with the vague warning in the opening sentence, that’s probably more pink than you were expecting, wasn’t it? We think it’s fairly obvious that the entire point of the ensemble is too look as much like a Barbie as humanly possible while wearing high fashion, so making any jokes about it pretty much misses the point. We like a good cheeky-fun take on style – especially for the morning chat shows, which beg for a little bright theatricality – but as an ensemble, we think this all looks kind of silly. Any one of these pieces would make a great centerpiece for a whole different outfit, but when you combine them all, you’re skirting right up to the line of Halloween costume.
