It’s a rare occasion that sees Rihanna in high-end fashion on a red carpet, but it’s probably not a surprise that she put on a gown to attend the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever premiere, considering she has a song on the sound track which will almost certainly be submitted for Oscar consideration. She opted for some high-glam in the Rick Owens mode, which means she wore something sparkly and more than a little challenging.
At first glance, we really hated that greige color, but the more we look at this, the more the oddness of that hue appeals to us. It’s unexpected and it honestly looks pretty great on her. We can’t say we love the hip swag, but it took us a while to realize that what’s bothering us about this dress has little to do with the dress at all. It’s the gloves. Given the oddness of the dress’s color and shape, it really didn’t need the addition of more bulk and a competing shade of gray. It’s an interesting look but a slightly over-style one, in our opinion.
