Penélope Cruz continues to Chanel all over the red carpets of the world. Yes, it’s a verb, but it’s only to be used in reference to people who are paid to wear Chanel. We have spoken.

We think the proportions and tailoring wind up giving her a slightly boxy fit, but we don’t think it’s too much of an issue because the overall look is really cute and well styled. We wouldn’t have paired those platforms with it, though. Heavy footwear only adds to that boxy effect. We think a simple pair of pumps or sandals without a platform would finish this off better. Her hair looks cute and the earrings are gorgeous.

We don’t know. It probably looks a lot better in person, but this is one of those couture dresses that simply doesn’t photograph like couture. It’s all fine, but it doesn’t really pop nor does it feel all that rich. If anything, it looks like fancy lingerie. Nothing wrong with working a little Boudoir Chic when it’s done well, but we don’t think that was the idea here. It doesn’t help that the fit’s not great and the edges give it an unfinished feel. We’re old fashioned. We think if you’re going to wear couture, it should be drop-dead sickening and look like it was made just for you. This doesn’t accomplish either.
