Loki star Gugu Mbatha-Raw has a new Apple TV+ series launching next week and she hit the Jimmy Fallon set in a dress that will not be ignored; a move for which we have no response other than to applaud it – and also nitpick it a little. We can only be as God made us, darlings. Nitpicky bitches who appreciate a good attention-seeking flex.

We’ll say it: We think the dress is honestly kind of ugly. The shape is fine and the basic design is okay – just okay – but the details are tacky and over-embellished. We don’t like the color story, the buttons, the tassels, or that whole bust-to-sleeve element. On the other hand, we love her shoes and it’s hard for her to look anything but gorgeous no matter what she’s wearing. We don’t love the dress, but it keeps you focused on her.
