At first we were all “We love this!” And then we were all “Wait, we’re not so sure about this.” And then we figured “Say, we should put it up to a vote, then!” But then we were like “Wait, would that be mean?” As you can see, we simply have NO IDEA what to think of Miss Keke’s gown for the BET Awards.
We think patchwork designs can be a lot of fun when they’re done right. We think these prints actually work together fairly well, although one or two of them look a little chintzy to us. But if there’s one thing in red carpet style that really bothers us it’s unnecessary trains. Haha, just kidding; there are TONS of things in red carpet style that bother us, but right now, in this moment, that needless train is bothering us the most. It just feels like an attempt to make a simple gown look more grandiose than it needed to be and it looks like it’s causing some of the seams to pull a little. And it could all be fitted to her a little better as it’s coming off kind of shapeless right now. We think we liked the idea behind the dress first, but the longer we looked at it, the more we realized that aside from the prints, nothing about the design really works.
