We’ll admit upfront that we have selfish reasons for spotlighting this dress so early. Oh, don’t get us wrong. It absolutely deserves some time in the spotlight on its own merits. Just look at it:
That watteau back combined with an off-the-shoulder neckline is exactly how you do an updated, modern take on Gilded Age fashion tropes. And that stunner of a necklace certainly elevates the look to classic high society levels, although we tend to think it’s just a skosh too long for the bustline. But we really just wanted to take this moment to correct a mistake we made last night in our Cosmopolitan writeup, where we referred to it as an emerald green. Duh, it’s clearly jade. Forgive us, we were tired. She looks gorgeous, although we don’t love the buttons fastening the cape to the dress.
