We really do. Sheers are wildly overdone in current high fashion, but if there’s one place where showing up in heels, a bathing suit and a floor-length sheer skirt is not just normal, but practically expected, it’s a Chanel party in Monte Carlo. We’d be annoyed if not downright apoplectic if someone wore this to the Met Gala or the Oscars, of course. But that’s the thing about good style. It’s all about the right look on the right wearer at the right time.
