This is how we know nature truly is healing. Seeing her back here on the Croisette just feels so darn normal to us. Do we love this gown? No, not really. Dolce & Gabbana remain their problematic selves and the design feels a little half-assed on their parts. It plays to her strengths – she can wear dramatic elements and bold colors with ease – but the floral elements are overdone and the traditional gown elements are under-designed. Still, despite our quibbles and dislikes, she’s making it work better than anyone else could. It’s striking even if the design feels unresolved in a lot of ways.
