It’s the Kids Choice Awards, darlings! And not only are we going to judge all of the kids’ choice (never not a fun pasttime), we’re also going to celebrate that this is the first Kids Choice Awards we’ve covered in over THREE years! Yay for (whatever passes for) normalcy! Now let’s get to it. The backdrop is loud and the clothes need to be up to the task of standing out and possibly being slime-worthy.
Charlie Puth in Etro
This is goofily cute, but we can’t sign off on those white tassel loafers.
Halle Bailey (in Knorts) and Chloe Bailey (in Andrew James)
We can’t say we love the ripped-hem design. Chloe clearly did not come to play. Her hair looks amazing, but that hem length is awkward.
Heidi Klum in Christian Cowan
Okay, that’s weird.
Isla Fisher in Moschino
Maybe this is a little too on point in a “Kids love cartoons!” kind of way, but the dress is too hilarious to stay mad at it. Those bridesmaid pumps were a terrible choice, though.
Jack Harlow
It’s cute. We’re not mad at it. He’s shown pretty great taste in footwear the last few times we’ve featured him.
Jordan Fisher in Versace
It feels like there are too many things happening here. We think we could get behind the elephant pants, but pairing them with a mint-green lace turtleneck and silver moto (just go ahead and say that phrase out loud to get the full effect) and gold-toed boots is asking a lot of our senses.
Josh Peck
Okay, Boomer.
Joshua Bassett
The bottom half is really cute. That shirt’s doing nothing.
Miranda Cosgrove in Celia Kritharioti
Fun and bright without giving that “I’m dressing juvenile for the kids” feeling.
Peyton List in Dolce & Gabbana
Yuck. Sorry, girl. That was the verbatim T Lo response and we stick by it. This is dreary.
Sabrina Carpenter in David Koma
Sure. Why not? It’s got a little bit of a Barbie feel to it and we’ve seen way worse cutouts this month alone. It’s not elegant or chic, but it doesn’t have to be. We’re at the Kids Choice Awards.
Sofia Carson in Giambattista Valli
A valiant attempt, but those boots simply don’t go with that dress.
Sofia Vergara in Safiyaa
It’s all the hassle of a jumpsuit paired with all the hassle of a gown. Why bother? It’s not a terrible look but we’ve never liked these Frankenstein’d garment designs. Let a dress be a dress, we say.
