We are positively awash in red carpetry at the moment (and completely giddy over these bountiful blessings from the content goddesses), but even with awards season partying in full swing, sometimes a couple of bitchy bloggers just have to pause and say nothing more complicated than “Damn, that’s a killer look.”
It’s not complicated, fussy, or avant garde. It’s just a killer dress on the right wearer paired with a drop-dead coat. If that’s not the essence of the Michael Kors aesthetic, we don’t know what is. He doesn’t follow trends or reinvent the wheel, but he’s always been so reliable a choice for the red carpet that we don’t understand why he doesn’t dominate it more.
In other news, we fully support the wearing of outerwear on formal red carpet, so long as it’s this dramatic.
