Sentimental Value star Elle Fanning found a chic, elegant way to tell us to shut the hell up. Literally ever since she was a little girl, we’ve been standing on the sidelines like two obnoxious gay uncles yelling “Elle! Pale colors aren’t really for you!” and “Elle! When will it be time for you to give up the princess gowns?” Evidently she’s had enough of our nonsense.

Our mouths, they are shut. In truth, it was never time for her to give up the princess gowns. It’s not like she’s aged out of the look, after all. Sure, it can seem awfully expected for someone who looks like a living Disney Princess (and played one), but if a style works this well for you, who cares if it’s expected? This is a gorgeous gown. As for the non-color, we definitely would have liked this more, even if were in a pale blue or pink, just to get it away from any bridal undertones. But we’d be fools to claim she looks anything but gorgeous here. The embroidery really elevates the dress, but that necklace is the star of the look.
