She didn’t suddenly start wearing bold colors (and probably never will), but Eternals star Angelina Jolie did manage to surprise us with her rather unexpected style swerve for the film’s London premiere. We appreciate her stepping a millimeter outside her comfort zone, but we’re not sure if we like it.
We definitely like the idea of it. The huge, sweeping skirt paired with a tuxedo jacket is a great idea. It certainly served Billy Porter well once upon a time. We even think the rather insouciant (which is a fancy way of saying “sloppy”) styling is a potentially chic way to go, sort of like a formal Annie Hall take. But we’re sorry, that blouse looks absolutely terrible. We don’t think a tuxedo shirt was called for here (that could look too precious), but the artful untuck looks horrible to us. Should we just let that go and enjoy the Angelina of it all? We’re asking.
