We had two thoughts upon seeing these pictures of Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon on the shoot for the Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That. The first is that the one character whose middle-aged style seems to make the most character sense (and not coincidentally, look the most stylish) in this series is Miranda.

Granted, it’s almost as unlikely and impractical as a day look than Carrie’s rather tragic getup (which we are hoping is meant to signal some sort of breakdown on her part, because the alternative is too depressing to consider), but it really is a great little outfit, from the backpack right down to the flats.

The second thought we had is that we’d love it if this scene ended with them standing up and groaning in pain from sitting on those steps. It would be hilariously real, but we don’t think that’s the point of this show.
