Gugu Mbatha-Raw Promotes “Loki” in Christian Dior

Having spent the earlier part of today covering the for-real, non-virtual In the Heights premiere, we feel the need to beg the forces at work to give this woman a red carpet to stand on. We don’t want to start criticizing promotional efforts that are still taking the cautious route, but we’re surprised Loki hasn’t gotten more of a push in the meatspace. We’re ever so grateful to be seeing Miss Gugu serving looks like she has a stuffed calendar of events to attend, though.

We adore the top half here. While the jacket looks a bit heavy for this time of year, we love the stiff formality of it. She looks really great working these pseudo-military elements and they make a nice callback to her costume in the series, if that was her intention. We try and be open about formal shorts, but we only wind up liking about half of the ones we see. We just don’t love them here.
