It’s moments like this when we really miss our “IN or OUT” posts. We felt we had to retire them for the duration of All This Nonsense, since a good deal of our celebrity fashion coverage went from the usual method: purchasing the rights to publicity and red carpet photos from photo wire agencies, to a new red carpetless reality where we’re sourcing most of our pictures from the social media accounts of celebrities or their stylists. It just didn’t feel right to apply the same approach to a very different setup, even if the outfits in question are just as high-end, as curated and as calculated as any red carpet. Case in point, Miss Kate, high on the Golden Globe nomination for Music (and possibly in response to the enormous controversy surrounding the film) has busted out roughly $25,000 worth of fashion to make a Zoom appearance.

But even if we wanted to … say, nitpick the car wash fringe, critique the choice of matching shoe, question the chicness of the belt or the very idea of brown sequins, for instance, we just feel like the lack of a more professional, high-profile setting limits us.
Which is why you should do it instead.
In truth, we don’t hate this look at all. The brown really suits her. We don’t love the fringe or the belt, and we think a gold metallic pump would’ve been much more fun, but let’s face it: even if she did get styled all to hell in pursuit of Golden Globe realness, we just can’t rag on a gal who gets this glammed up to stay in and observe good social distancing.
