Miss Jenny From The Block said goodbye to 2020 in the manner most of us did: By putting on $20,000 of free merch and riding the New York City subway while posing for pictures.
Okay, maybe YOU didn’t spend your New Year’s Eve that way, but that doesn’t mean Jenny’s not a girl of the people, now does it? Besides, if she can make a sweatsuit look like a Vogue editorial, you have to figure your girl’s not gonna take a subway ride without going way over the top about it.
Impractical? Unlikely? Possibly even a little ridic, all things considered? Yes, yes and yes. Also: Drop-dead fabulous. Remember: despite packaging it like some sort of whim on her part, it’s actually a highly coordinated ad campaign. We can smirk at the weirdness of riding an empty subway car in a massive tulle skirt, but she really does look amazing and the images are pretty arresting – in a beauty ad campaign sort of way, of course.
