Just yesterday we were musing about how Miss Gwen has settled on an almost Dolly Parton-esque level of drag branding; a look that is recognizably hers and doesn’t stray too far outside a defined set of parameters and elements. Pixie pop princess, we called it. Little did we know she’d be hitting Rockefeller Center mere hours later, neither proving us wrong or backing us up with her choices, which were definitely broader in style than we might have predicted.
Or were they?

We’re not sure how “pixie” this is, but wrapping herself up in what looks like a combination of satin and PVC in pink and black with jeweled accents certainly couldn’t be called “professorial” or “elegantly restrained” or “low key,” now could it? Add some boots, some gloves and a tight high pony tail and yeah, we’d argue this is still very much within the Stefani Style box.

This is a lot of fun and kind of a twisted take on a bigass Christmas dress. She loves red probably more than she loves pinks, and she’s always had fun with things like hats, wild silhouettes and unusual textiles like mesh. Personally, we’d have told her to keep the skirt and top it off with some sort of fuzzy tiny sweater, but she doesn’t exactly need our advice as to how to do the Stefani look.
